What is Hospice Care?
The term “Hospice” is derived from a medieval word meaning a place of shelter for travellers on difficult journeys. Today this term is used to describe programs that care in a special way for people with a life-limiting illness and their families.
Who are we?
Hospice of Charlotte was started in the 1980s by a group of interested and concerned local people. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors and an Executive Director.
Who is eligible?
Any resident of Charlotte County whose illness is unlikely to be cured and whose life expectancy is, therefore, limited is eligible for Hospice Services.
Where can we help?
Hospice of Charlotte offers it services to patients who reside:
- At home
